President (2017/18), Oxford Climate Society

Welcome to the Oxford Climate Society Blog!

Over the coming months our team of writers will fill this blog with engaging, relevant stories on climate change. We know that our changing climate is a problem to which we all contribute and which affects each of us and our most basic needs: food, water, shelter from extreme weather. Discussion about this should not be limited to those who understand the acronyms of the UN climate process or the physics of climate science. This blog will look to break down some of these barriers, and demonstrate how everyone can make a difference.

The OCS Blog will also give Oxford students the opportunity to voice their opinions on the latest developments in climate policy, and for us to share breakthroughs in climate-relevant science with our peers in a way which is accessible to all. From personal reflections on events around us to informative pieces about local and global action to tackle climate change, we hope this blog will inform and interest all, irrespective of prior knowledge. This blog will also be a perfect complement to our lecture series, in which our expert speakers discuss some of the key issues in efforts to minimise the extent of climate change and limit its impacts.

Make sure to keep up-to-date with the latest from our blog by following us on Facebook and Twitter, and by joining our mail list!

Want to contribute? Get in touch with us if you’d like to join our media team, or have any questions!
